Hello all!
I just got back from a trip visiting family and friends in LA and I’m so excited to share everything with you!
First up is what I wore on the trip. I realized about half way through packing that almost every outfit I planned to wear included stripes. But stripes just scream warm weather and vacation to me, so I decided to roll with it!
Shirt: Nordstrom // Pants: Bloomingdales (currently on sale) // Earrings: Rose And Honey // Shoes: Blondo
LA wasn’t very hot for most of my stay, but these two outfits are what I wore for the first two days while it was still warm outside. Airy, wide-leg pinstripe pants and a flowy top kept me cool walking around the Getty Villa and a short, long-sleeved dress helped prevent me from getting sunburnt while walking around The Grove and LACMA.

For the Chinese New Year celebrations in downtown LA, I stuck to a celestial theme with an all-black outfit speckled with stars and moons. Unfortunately, I completely forgot to bring red with me on this trip to really embrace the festivities.

Once the weather started getting colder, I had the opportunity to wear this ADORABLE sweater dress while browsing a local flea market and walking around melrose. It’s from a Nordstrom collaboration with the delightful blogger Cupcakes & Cashmere and I absolutely love it! This is a great spring transition piece and I plan to style it a bunch of different ways over the next few months.

For going out later that night I donned a sparkly, striped dress to fully immerse myself in the LA glitz and glam! It was so cold that I didn’t take off my jacket, but don’t worry this dress will definitely be making an appearance again soon!
Dress: Bloomingdales // Jacket: Old faux leather Free People
For my last and coldest day in California, my family and close friend took a trip to Joshua Tree National Park. We all thought we’d be sweating in the dessert, but alas we were all terribly underdressed for the wind and 40-degree chills. I aimed for a cowgirl/western vibe with my beatle boots, chambray jacket, and bow tie lariat necklace.

The wind just killed my hair and blew through my outfit, but I managed to get a few decent shots in.
I definitely needed this trip to reconnect with my family and friends on the West Coast. I think it really got me in the mood for spring and summer – I’m so ready for warm weather in DC now!
Let me know what you think of these outfits and if you also gravitate towards stripes for warmer weather!
More to come soon!
xoxo
