Hello all!
As 2017 comes to a close, I think a fun post is in order! Here are some of my favorite style moments of this past year, and plenty of these looks can be used for NYE inspiration, as well.
1. Little Black Dress in Austria
While volunteering at the Special Olympics World Games 2017 in Austria, I had the opportunity to attend a cultural performance celebrating Austrian heritage at the Oper Graz. For an evening of elegant music and dancing in between volunteering, I opted for this trusty LBD and some metallic sandals.
2. Little Red Dress at Grad Parties
For one of my best friend’s graduation parties, I opted for a sleek red dress. The color gives a festive vibe while the black strappy heels and crystal earrings don’t detract from this statement dress.
3. Senior Gala
Speaking of graduation events, this dress was for my senior gala during senior week at my school. It was the “last hurrah” to get all dolled up and party the night away with peers and professors before graduating. I chose this golden, sparkly floor length dress to fit the celebratory mood that evening.
4. My Graduation Look
For my official graduation, I chose a white gown with sheer sleeves and delicate floral embroidery. I actually purchased this dress my junior year of college because as soon as I saw it, I knew that I wanted to graduate in it. The simple, elegant design was exactly what I had in mind, and the white color paid homage to my high school graduation dress code.
5. Casual Island Vibes
This is definitely the most casual look on the list – I (fortunately) had a lot of occasions to get fancy this year, and it shows as I go back through my favorite outfits! But I do love this look from my graduation trip with family to Nantucket. I’m wearing an old pair of boyfriend jeans, cute graphic flats, a simple white tee, navy blazer, colorful necklace, and Panama hat. None of these pieces are particularly special, but together they create a timeless look that speaks of relaxation.
6. Upscale Island Vibes
This outfit is from my trip to Hawaii. I wore it for my parent’s 25th anniversary dinner on Lana’i. The deep blue floral print and sleek metallic sandals have a fun, tropical vibe. And I had to incorporate an orchid barrette in my hair to continue the floral motif, of course!
7. Newport Nights on the Town
I kept things quintessentially New England for a Newport dinner this past July. An airy copper-coral dress and metallic heels are a solid base to play with a pearl necklace and whimsical “bucket bag” clutch from Nantucket.
8. Bday Celebrations in NYC
Red has been my color of choice for birthday outfits over the past few years. I typically gravitate towards blacks and grays for everyday looks, so I relish the chance to stand out one day a year to celebrate! With a dress this vibrant, I stuck to neutral accessories in black.
9. Holiday Gala
Keeping with the red dress theme, I chose this patterned, midi-length dress for a holiday party earlier in December. Since this was a glam affair, I kept my hair up so my snowflake earrings could shine and chose bow-embellished heels instead of plain black pumps.
10. Casual Sparkles
I wore this outfit to tea at The Pierre in NYC. Although this outfit consists of head to toe black, my gold-flecked skirt keeps things interesting. This is a go-to look for when I’m not feeling like getting completely dressed up but still want to look put-together.
Let me know if there are any outfits of mine that you’ve seen so far this year that have caught your eye. I hope some of these styles may serve as New Years Eve inspiration, no matter what weather conditions you’re celebrating it in!
xoxo
