This past Sunday was spent kicking off my birthday month in style!!!
One of my favorite spots in DC is the Watergate Hotel. The beautiful views and amazing food can’t be beat. And the recently redecorated hotel channels the 1960s and 70s glamour when it was at the height of its fame…and scandal. 😉
Since I always feel the need to throw on go-go boots and a mini dress whenever I’m here, this past Sunday I finally decided to dress the part – with a more updated twist.
Channeling the “modern” swinging sixties/seventies:
The classic (faux) fur shag coat with leopard interior and Beatle boots play nicely with a (faux) leather mini and boldly colored top. The ponytail, chunky earrings, and oversized glasses add to the glamour.
**I try to be as environmentally-friendly as possible when I shop, hence the large amount of “faux” in my wardrobe**
Coat: Kenneth Cole New York
Top: ASTR (similar)
Skirt: Aqua
Boots: Blondo
Earrings: Baublebar
All photos were taken at the Top of the Gate rooftop bar and in front of The Next Whiskey Bar. Because this whole hotel is incredibly instagrammable.
Let me know if you have any fun ways to channel your favorite decade! And definitely hit me up if you try out The Watergate anytime soon so I can know what you think!
