Happy Memorial Day Weekend!
In honor of this being a three day weekend, I want to share my favorite brunch spots to inspire you to get out and enjoy some delicious food in this lovely weather!
If you know DC, you know we take our brunches very seriously! While there are tons of incredible options across the city, I wanted to share a few of my personal favorites with you all!
Busboys and Poets
This quintessential DC brunch spot is a MUST for anyone visiting or living here! The menu is so incredibly expansive and delicious, and has options for every single person – vegetarian, vegan, gluten free, kosher, halal, etc. I go here a few times a year and always leave feeling full and happy.
Busboys and Poets is a full-service restaurant, bar, bookstore, coffee shop, and events venue, so I have attended book readings and drag shows there – it’s truly a community space! There are a few locations around the DC area, but my go-tos are 450 K St NW (downtown DC) and 2021 14th Street.
My recommendations: I always order the Oaxaca omelet, sweet potato pancakes, and a blueberry latte
Proper 21 K
This is SUCH a fun spot for brunch! Their Social Brunch offering ($36.99) can be paired with bottomless mimosas ($17.99) and includes shareable plates, individual dishes, and a benny & toast bar! The food is delicious and it’s so much fun to try out different dishes and share with your friends!
My recommendations: get the unlimited papas bravas, huevos rancheros, and your own customized eggs benedict

Feta
This newly opened cafe and bakery in Georgetown is my new favorite spot! I stop by for their delicious drinks when I’m at work, but love the healthy, delicious options available for brunch all day long!
My recommendations: the spinach and feta scramble on their homemade sourdough paired with an iced vanilla latte

Ambar
One of my go-tos when I want a fun, casual brunch with my friends! For $34.99 per person you can have the Ambar Experience of unlimited food and add $8.99 to enjoy unlimited selected drinks. I always love the variety of Balkan dishes available to expand my palate!
My recommendations: definitely include the garlic beans, beet tzatziki, cheese pie, veggie flatbread, and cinnamon sweet sourdough to your order – and my go-to drinks are the peach lavender mimosas and red sangria
Mission
This classic Mexican DC brunch – I love the bottomless brunch for $26.99 with SO many delicious options. I always have an amazing time!
My recommendations: get guac for the table and the delicious breakfast quesadilla or burrito
Supra
I tried out this fabulous Georgian restaurant for the first time for Restaurant Week last week and absolutely loved it! I had never experienced this type of food and am now hooked.
My recommendations: pair the Eggplant Nigvzit with the iconic Ajaruli and you MUST drink the tarragon soda on the side – I’m obsessed!
Iron Gate
I love this upscale Mediterranean restaurant for a sleek brunch! This hidden gem (although well-known to local DCers) offers Italian & Greek small plates, a tasting menu, and more – you can also eat in their beautiful courtyard.
My recommendations: the shellbean hummus, Greek yogurt parfait, and ricotta pancakes are so delish
Call Your Mother Deli
As someone raised by two New Yorkers who visited NYC often, my bagel standards are pretty high – but this DC spot tastes just like NYC! CYM is perfect for an on-the-go brunch and they have locations all over DC. Often, my friends and I will grab a bagel from CYM then head to a local park for a picnic together!
My recommendations: while you can’t go wrong with a classic like The Royal Palm, I do love to customize with their za’atar bagel paired with garlic herb schmear.
Four Seasons DC
If you’re looking for an upscale, all-you-can-eat buffet of absolute deliciousness, definitely head to the Four Seasons in Georgetown for their spectacular brunch! I love going when my family is in town since it’s such a treat!
My recommendations: I love the customizable omelet station and incredible dessert display
I hope this post helped you add some new brunch spots to your list whether you’re a DC local or plan on visiting the city!
XOXO
