June Obsessions: Pride 2021

Happy Pride Month!

I’m so incredibly excited to celebrate Pride this year by attending both in person and virtual events, as well as immersing myself in books, movies, and music that support LGBTQ+ artists and shares queer stories!

If you’d like to learn more about my identity and relationship with Pride Month, check out this blog post I wrote a few years ago! I joke that this month allows me to be super flamboyant, and honestly I feel as though I need a time to really be enveloped and emboldened by this beautiful community that at its core believes in the fullness of self expression and never apologizing for who you are. There’s an authenticity around Pride and queer circles that I can’t always find elsewhere, so I absolutely love being surrounded by people living their truth whenever I get the opportunity.

Pride is a time filled with love and acceptance – I always appreciated attending events where everyone could truly feel comfortable being their most genuine selves. I look forward to the smaller events happening this year and am excited about the larger celebrations to come once things return to “normal.”

I’ve rounded up a ton of fun LGBTQ+ focused things to do this month and I hope you enjoy!
