Holiday Looks 2019: Statement Skirts

Hello all!

I’m happy to share my favorite holiday looks for this year and hope you find inspiration from this variety of styles and textures! I incorporated glitter, sequins, embellishments, and tulle to set the festive tone and get into the holiday spirit! I’ve already worn most of these looks to various events this December and will continue into the new year.

I’ve also recently grown to really love a good statement skirt. They are so easy to style for both casual and formal settings and truly are the ultimate wardrobe chameleons. I already intend to wear them throughout the year and can’t wait to repurpose them for spring and summer!

Red Christmas

My Christmas look features this vibrant red skirt paired with a black turtleneck sweater and simple black velvet pumps. I went for a vintage, 1950s vibe paying tribute to my favorite holiday movie, White Christmas, since I was in Vermont for Christmas and that’s where the movie it set!  I linked similar pieces below, since unfortunately a lot of my outfit was sold out after Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales.

Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy

My second favorite tulle skirt this holiday season features delicate ballerinas embroidered all over it. This was a Black Friday steal from Anthropologie and I have already gotten so much use out of this skirt! It’s also incredibly versatile due to the light material and neutral colors, so I can wear it year round. I wore this to a few holiday gatherings, but was especially happy to wear it out to tea at the Plaza Hotel in NYC followed by a matinee performance of the Nutcracker Ballet in Lincoln Center.

Sparkling New Year

This will be the exact outfit I wear to my chill family dinner on New Year’s Eve. I always prefer to have a low-key start to the year, so thankfully my family does a delicious dinner out then we head home to watch the ball drop on TV while eating treats and sipping champagne. I wanted to stay comfy for a chill night out, so I opted for a cheeky embellished sweater and stretchy sequin skirt combo. This outfit is perfect for a fun-but-not-too-dressed up evening out with the fam!

I hope these fun outfits featuring my favorite statement skirts help you with your holiday wardrobe planning!
