Hi all,
I feel like I’ve been so caught up in the whirlwind of the holidays that I haven’t had time to really sit down to go through everything I’ve been up to since coming back to DC last weekend.
A lot of what is on this list are ongoing events, so definitely try to go to as many as possible before they end! Trust me, it really puts you in the holiday spirit!!
Here are some of the things I’ve been up to:
1. Zoolights
Where: Smithsonian National Zoo
When: 5-9pm every night until January 1
This amazing light display (with a giant slide, food and drink, and a lit up carousel) is fun for everyone! I went with a group of girlfriends and we just had fun walking around. The lights are beautifully displayed and make you want to come back again and again!
So many fun things to see!
And of course I had to bring out my fuzzy Kenneth Cole coat for the zoo! (Now on sale!)
2. Miracle on 7th
Where: 1839 7th St NW
When: through December 31
For a great happy hour spot, look no further than the iconic pop up bar from Drink Company. Their latest iteration features a Candy Land room, a Hanukkah/Chinese Takeout Room, and an iconic BeyoncĂ© “Sleigh” themed room! I highly recommend their hot cocoa drink – it’ll warm you right up in this chilly weather!
And yes, of course I dressed up like a candy cane in my Madewell turtleneck to keep in the holiday spirit!
3. A Candlelight Christmas
Where and when: check site for details
The Washington Chorus is spreading holiday cheer by performing at various locations in the DC area. I went this past Sunday, and it was a truly magical experience that left me feeling warm and Christmas-y!
On top of the amazing music, I was absolutely obsessed with artistic director Christopher Bell’s outfits! A sequined jacket and then a red velvet jacket with red shoes?!?
And in my pursuit of sparkles I happened upon these two gems: sequined tuxedo pants from my new favorite store and this glittery gold sweater I snagged on Black Friday.
4. Holiday Music Concerts in the Botanic Gardens
Where: US Botanic Gardens
When: Tuesday’s and Thursday’s – details here
What better way to ring in the holidays than with your favorite music to get in the spirit? These free concerts are beautiful and you can walk around to see the sculptures of iconic buildings and monuments in DC as the performance goes on. All of the miniatures were created out of plant materials! They are so intricate!
The a cappella group “The Capitol Hearings” performed the night I went and they had everyone singing and dancing along!
I channeled the surrounding flora with my Lucy Paris skirt. 🙂
I hope you all get the chance to enjoy these ongoing festivities during this holiday season! Let me know if there’s anything going on that you think I should check out!
xoxo
