Hi All and Happy (almost) Galentine’s Day!

If you’ve been following my Instagram and blog for a while, you know I’m a big fan of #selfcare! I’m also a bit of a skincare fanatic and adore trying out new creams and masks to keep my skin hydrating and glowing.

It is for these reasons that I was so incredibly happy to be invited to attend a Galentine’s Day Event at Luxe Dermatology and Aesthetic Center in Virginia. It was my first time trying out a treatment there, so I opted for their Custom Facial to see how they approached my skin and experience the different types of products they offer.

Here’s the rundown on what my Custom Facial entailed:

• Hydrating cream

My Custom Facial started with my aesthetician, Shawna, asking me about my skincare routine, the products I use, and my skin type. After the analysis, she walked me through the products she would be using and was constantly checking in to make sure my skin wasn’t adversely reacting to anything. I didn’t feel any discomfort throughout the process, but I always joke that my dry skin is practically impenetrable. XD I did experience some tingling with the exfoliation products, but that’s to be expected and wasn’t irritating at all.

Although I’ve had many different types of facials over the years, this was my first time trying dermaplaning! I’d heard rave reviews about how smooth it leaves your skin, so I was very excited to finally try it out. I’m not going to lie, the sharp blade made me kind of nervous at first, but the staff at Luxe were so gentle and kind talking me through the process.

The dermaplaning removed so much excess dead skin and peach fuzz, my skin felt baby-soft afterwards. That combined with their hydrating facial cream left me positively radiant!! I’ve been in awe of just how smooth my skin has been all week after this treatment – I seriously can’t remember the last time I didn’t have some unevenness or blackheads around my chin and cheeks! Basically, I’m a huge fan of dermaplaning now (if I didn’t make that incredibly obvious)!

If you’re based in the Virginia, Maryland, or Washington, DC area, I cannot recommend Luxe Dermatology and Aesthetic Center enough! The staff made us all feel so welcome and comfortable, they were transparent about the products they use, and they pay close attention to your individual skincare needs. Luxe is also a medspa, which means they offer both medical and cosmetic services.  It’s a one-stop-shop for helping with eczema, acne, and hair loss, as well as facials, Botox, and microneedling. I love when businesses have a holistic approach to beauty so you can truly feel your best both inside and out!
