Hello all!
Now that Restaurant Week has officially ended, I’m giving my roundup of everywhere I ate and what I had at each spot! I always use Restaurant Week to go back to my all-time faves like Dirty Habit and Rasika, as well as using it as an excuse to try out new places I’ve heard possitive buzz about like American Son and Juniper! Although it’s only supposed to be for a week, some restaurants end up extending it for another week due to the popularity. It’s great for business – especially in January when nobody wants to really leave their homes.
Dirty Habit
I had to start with this classic! Restaurant Week and Passport Program introduced me to this special place since I get such a great double deal here! The food is always exceptional, the seasonal cocktails are superb, and their truffle fries are (in my opinion) the best in DC! This time around I went with a large group of friends so we got to try out a little bit of everything from their special restaurant week menu.
American Son
This international hotspot has been on my list to visit for a long time and I’m so happy I finally got around to it! I was not disappointed by all the unique flavors and textures – the chef here really enjoys playing with food and making it into art. I can’t wait to go back and try out more of their menu, but I have to say that my yuzu brussel sprouts, sweet and spicy potatoes, and key lime panna cotta were absolutely divine!
Juniper
I work right near this restaurant and it always seems full, so I used Restaurant Week as an excuse to finally try it out. I loved how the chef incorporated tons of seasonal vegetables (re: my love of mushrooms) into the winter menu and will definitely be back since the ambiance and food were so soothing and the location is super convenient!
Rasika
A lunch staple since it’s right near my office – the portions are massive (you basically get two meals for $22) and there are so many options to choose from. They include a substantial amount of items from their menu for restaurant week, which is especially nice since some locations only have 2 or 3 options to pick for each course. I always get the vegetable thali and am overwhelmed by the generosity of the portions.
I hope you all enjoyed my brief but thorough Winter Restaurant Week rundown! I always have so much fun trying out new places and encourage you to look into restaurant weeks in whatever city or town you live in!
XOXO
